We hope the new year has found you all doing well.
Back at the end of 2022, we had to make a difficult decision to stop accepting United Health Care and UMR. We have had some challenges getting claims covered for simple things that patients needed like custom orthotics and some other durable medical equipment that promote correction and healing.
In those claims we found that UHC would deny, ask for proof in various forms, and then when that proof was given, they would ask for a different type of proof. It is our feeling that they used this tactic to get us to simply give up and not attempt to order these types of devices in order for them to save money on the claims. It’s not a new tactic, but it was enough for us to lose quite a bit of money.
With all that being said, since we need to stay in network with all major health plans, we have decided to accept United Healthcare and UMR again.
We understand that some of you have moved on to other providers, and that is OK. Some of you have stuck with us.
If you need us, we wanted to just let you know that we are once again accepting your insurance, and we can discuss the options for those hard to cover items when necessary, and take care of your feet like you are used to.
